The main difference between the GREAT performers of yesteryear and the majority (read American) of today’s Magicians is their laziness. From the collector, to the hobbyist and north to the weekend warrior - all share the same trait. The absence of ORIGINAL MATERIAL. It’s not their fault.
Back “in the day,” there was; NO TV, NO INTERNET, NO DVDs. (Holy shitballs! I just heard someone say :-) AND that was why the attendance at Magic THEATER Shows was so great. Many of those venues are gone today, Plowed right into the ground to make way for “progress.” But I digress. In today’s entertainment world, it will take a truly NEW! Trick, Effect, Illusion to cut through the media storm and reach an audience... More to Come...
Notre Party de Nöel was a great success. Performing were Le Grand Christophe, Charm & Charles, Mitch Vatch and yours truly. To thank everyone, there was a variety of giveaways and a few personal birthday and Christmas Gifts. Looking forward to our first Easter Parade on April 13th! Illusionists all love their shiny new toys and most know that a good illusion has a direct positive impact on show fees and the scale of the show and so we all want to be able to add new illusions to the show. But, the challenge not often discussed is how to finance such a large investment. That is exactly what this post is going to explore.
